I was born in Belgium, 1979. Drawing has been a part of my life ever since I can remember, never really with any great aspirations, until I made my first painting in March 2002. Things changed very rapidly since then. I moved to Barcelona, and make now -very fortunately- my living as an artist.
'Kobism' is actually a joke name, invented by my sister. Not that my work refers to cubism as such; personally I consider it to be a continuation of a merge of constructivism, cubism and fauvism. This merge was not created intentionally, but is merely a coincidence. My work used to be figurative, and there never has been a real evolution to this abstracted work. It just appeared one night, and has since then served me well to express my personal and rapidly changing feelings, as an emotional, daily outlet if you will. What I try to achieve is a representation of a revelation of beauty in my daily experiences, as well as a visual image of the paradoxes I seem to encounter everywhere. Wi.. |
