Jan Krishna Dames Holland
Jan Krishna Dames is a painter and photographer who was trained at the Free Art College in Amsterdam, Holland. He also studied creative education and designing. For several years he ran an art gallery in Amsterdam with other artists and also taught art in drawing classes. He calls his art: JUXTAPOSE ART This literally means ‘side by side’. In his artwork he juxtaposes two worlds, placing different cultures with the real and unreal, to create balance. Jan Krishna Dames’s inspiration and many of his ideas are from journeys he has made throughout Europe and Asia. For the last few years he has been living and working in India where he draws and paints, executing his ides on to paper and canvas. His work is known for its forms – that mix realism with figurative – and a warmth of strong colours. The simple forms reflect our inner life while the realistic / figurativ.. |
